Music Review – Simon Says, Umpires and Laughter
  • Hugh Sidey once said, “A sense of humor is needed armor. Joy in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.”

This week we will focus on smiles and laughter because…because…Well, because I said so. :-) So here we go…

    BillyKristaandJosh

LAUGH…about Jerry Seinfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow and Greg Giraldo appearing on “The Marriage Ref.” I’ll be honest in saying I didn’t think I would like the show. My mind has been changed. It was hilarious! These three made it definitely worth the watch and Gwyneth more than held her own with these two comedians.

Plus, check out Gwyneth’s blog on Nashville HERE. She lists a bunch of great places to visit in this amazing city. There are many I haven’t even checked out yet. Those places are now on the “To Do” list. Carry on.

SMILE when people show you we can do anything we set our minds to…no matter how old we are. 95-year-old Alabama native Earlene Harvey-Morris earned her high school diploma this month. The Great Depression caused Earlene’s high school to be closed due to lack of funds…one semester before graduation.

There was an unexpected, respected and embraced member of the graduating class of 2010. Earlene…RESPECT!!

LAUGH in the face of anyone who tells you something cannot be done. At least that’s what Bret Michaels has done most of his life…and it works.

I’ll be the first to admit, I shook my head and prayed that the train wreck called “Rock Of Love” would stop…during all three seasons. It totally changed my perception of Bret Michaels as the bad boy rock star of the 80’s. I didn’t like that change either.

    bret-michaels

Fast forward to this year. I have a newfound respect for the rock star who’s music fell into parts of the soundtrack of my life. When all the medical emergencies started happening with Bret this year, we got background stories on what he had dealt with in his life and overcome to get to be so successful.

Bret was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes at six-years-old. However, he didn’t let that slow him down and eventually became the front man of one of the greatest rock bands of the 80’s. Poison’s song still resonate with a generation…with a few generations actually.

When Poison was past their big years, they still toured. In 2001, one of my best friends April talked me into driving to see them in concert. I teased her all the way there about going. To this day, I will admit it was one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. They could still rock and I was beyond impressed.

Regardless of my opinion on his “Rock of Love” stint, the show revived Bret’s career. Old fans were reintroduced to the rock star they loved and new fans discovered a man and a band from the past. Granted, there were groupies trying to get his attention in REALLY weird ways…but I doubt that was much different from his earlier years. This was just televised. ;)

Just one month ago, Bret suffered a brain hemorrhage and almost died. He was in ICU for an extended amount of time and it was touch-and-go for days. However, Bret once again overcame the obstacle.

Before the medical emergency, Bret had been competing (for charity) on “Celebrity Apprentice.” Although he had taped all of the show and made the finals…the results had yet to be announced. As soon as Bret was released from the hospital, he flew to the finale (against doctor’s orders)…and won.

The last amazing feat by the rocker happened just a week or two later. American Idol contestant Casey James stood onstage and sang the first verse and chorus of a rock standard. As the second verse began, guess who took the stage? You got it…Mr. Michaels. It. Was. Awesome.

Bret, I take it back. You continue to rock my face off! Dear, sweet Bret Michaels…RESPECT!

SMILE in appreciation of great television. I had to do so three times in the past couple of weeks.

AMERICAN IDOL – First there was the farewell to Simon on American Idol. It was supposed to be about picking “The Next American Idol,” but let’s face it. People were watching for the Simon farewell.

    simon_cowell

Simon tends to make me mad for the simple fact that there is no need to be as cruel as he is. However, if he wasn’t…most people wouldn’t watch the show. Simon tends to make me nod in agreement, because he is usually 100% right in his music opinions. Simon tends to make me laugh for his sharp wit. The man is smart…very, very smart. Despite the anger he causes me, I’m going to miss him and the show will never be the same without him.

It was EXTREMELY cool to see all the Idols and contestants from the past sing there farewell HERE.

Admit it. Agree or not…you listen to what Simon Says. ;)

    BritandKerry

CRIMINAL MINDS – I didn’t smile. I had chills…the entire show. Criminal Minds is getting so creepy, I don’t think I can watch it anymore. After the season finale, I slept with the light on…for real. That one episode alone might force me to invest in a night light…and mace…and a bull horn…and a taser.

That is well written TV, but I can’t handle all that creepy. Ewwwww!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – Although he didn’t make it to the next round, Jarrell Robinson was incredible on the dance floor. You see…Jarrell is deaf. He can’t hear the music, but he can feel it through the bass. It was incredible to watch and Jarrell was inspiring. He had the most overwhelmingly positive attitude. The whole segment made me tear up and be proud of someone who loved what they were doing so much! Jarrell…RESPECT!

LAUGH at feeble attempts to remake great movies/TV shows. I’m hard-headed about this issue. IF IT AINT BROKE, DON’T FIX IT!!!! That means YOU Hollywood studios and producers.

I love my 80’s movies and TV shows. This recent attempt to remake all of them is really annoying. Can’t writers/producers/studios think up something new?!

It started with “The Dukes of Hazzard.” WHY?! I fell in love with these characters as a kid and adored the show. There was 100% refusal to see the movie. After watching THIS trailer, was it really necessary to see the whole thing?

They are remaking Karate Kid. I will admit, the trailer for the new one looks interesting…Plus, they give a nod to the Joe Esposito theme song from the original (“You’re the best around. Nothin’s gonna ever keep you down.”). I MIGHT watch it, but I’m still leery.

They are also remaking The A-Team. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. You’re gonna put a new actor in the roles of B.A., Faceman, Murdock and Hannibal? I think not. No disrespect to the new actors, but those guys were ICONS in those roles. That said…I’ll probably go see it. Bradley Cooper is hot. What do you want from me?! :)

If they touch The Goonies or Footloose, I’m gonna write a STRONGLY worded letter to Hollywood. Yeah…Scary, I know. :)

    the-goonies footloose

SMILE when someone actually takes responsibility for their actions. Wednesday was a rough night for the Detroit Tigers, pitcher Armando Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce.

THIS is why. Galarraga was one out away from pitching a perfect game. That play right there cost him perfection.

It was an obvious missed call. However, immediately following the game…Jim Joyce watched the replay and saw that he blew the call. What did he do? He apologized profusely and admitted his mistake. That doesn’t happen in many areas of life anymore and he immediately earned my respect. What a class move!

Umpiring is one of the toughest jobs in the world. As an umpire you will make mistakes and people will be pissed at you for those mistakes. You just have to do the best you can…and Jim Joyce has over the course of his career. This is a man who has been a major league umpire since 1987. His experience includes All-Star Games, Division Series and two World Series. He made one really, bad call and is sorry for it. Give the guy a break!

I am sorry for Galarraga though. Perfect rarely happens and he pitched a perfect game. Kudos Armando!

LAUGH…that’s what would happen any time I turned on an episode of “The Golden Girls.” The show had 65 Emmy nominations, won 11 Emmys and four Golden Globes during it’s run. All four lead characters won Emmys (a feat rarely accomplished by any TV show).

Sophia, Rose, Dorothy and Blanche became friends of ours and they always made us laugh. The show is compared to many others and none of the others even come close. Do you know why? Those actresses were/are at the top of their game. They made us love the characters they played…because we felt like we knew them.

    the-golden-girls

Sadly, we lost another Golden Girl in Rue McClanahan this week. RIP Blanche…thank you for bein’ a friend!

    SMILE…when great songs play.

AND here are the songs of the week that made…and continue to make…me smile.

    1. “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake. This one has always been relatable to me and it puts a smile on my face. Can’t help it. “Oh Lord I pray you’ll give me strength to carry on. Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams. Here I go again on my own. Goin down the only road I’ve ever known. Like a drifter I was born to walk alone. But I’ve made up my mind. I aint wastin no more time.” It’s the drums. I love the drums! Oh yeah AND the big hair and makeup of the 80’s (I mean on the male musicians of the 80’s of course.) :)

    2. “Dream On” by Aerosmith. “Sing with me, sing for the year. Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear. Sing with me, if it’s just for today. Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away.” It is a classic for a reason. That is why Eminem went and did this…

    aerosmith

    3. “Sing For the Moment” by Eminem. ”They say music can alter moods and talk to you. Well, can it load a gun up for you and cock it too? Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude, just tell the judge it was my fault and i’ll get sued. See what these kids do is hear about us totin’ pistols and they want to get one cause they think the shit’s cool. Not knowin’ we really just protectin’ ourselves, we entertainers. Of course the shit’s affectin’ our sales, you ignoramus. But music is reflection of self, we just explain it, and then we get our checks in the mail.” Did I mention he’s a genius? If I didn’t…he is.

    4. “Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas. ”I like that Boom Boom Pow. Them chicken’s jackin my style. They try to copy my swagger. I’m on that next shit now. I’m so 3008. You so 2000 and late. I got that Boom, boom, boom. That future boom, boom, boom. Let me get it now.” Don’t judge me. I heart this song. It makes me smile. Plus, this group is just freakin cool. Admit it.

    ChrisNathanandKrista

    5. “Bonnie and Clyde” by Chris Nathan. “He was a bad boy from Telico, Texas when a good girl stopped him in his tracks on the back road trying to find another way. They hit the highway…police on their tail. Took an exit…lost them in the dust of the desert. Tryin’ to buy another day. When she said there’s nothin’ more exciting than bein by my side, I couldn’t help but feel the same.” Every time. This song works every time. Chris is effin awesome. I go back to these songs over and over and over again. He is that bad ass.

    6. “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley. The video was shot in 1957 and it still rocks my face off. “Sad sack was sittin on a block of stone way over in the corner weepin all alone. Warden said hey buddy don’t ya be no square. If you can’t find a partner use a wooden chair let’s rock. Everybody let’s rock. Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin to the Jailhouse Rock.”

    7. “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake. He made the transition from boy band to superstar quite easily. JT knows how to make me want to dance…yeah, dance. :) “So you grab your girls and you grab a couple more and you all come meet me in the middle of the floor. Said the air is thick, it’s smelling right. So you pass to the left and you sail to the right.” I don’t even mind the disco undertone to this tune.

    justin_timberlake

    8. “Lie” by Randy Houser. I’ve heard this song live and recorded a million times. I still laugh every time. It. Is. Hilarious. An easy explanation for how men pick up women…“A man has got to do what a man’s got to do. Anything it takes to make her think you’re cool. You’ve got nothin to lose so go on and try. Just walk right up and smile and look her dead in the eye…and lie.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Love. It.

    9. “Mickey” by Toni Basil. Try and keep this one out of your head once you hear it. You’re welcome. “Oh Mickey what a pity you don’t understand. You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand. Oh Mickey you’re so pretty can’t you understand? It’s guys like you Mickey. Oh what ya do Mickey. Do Mickey. Don’t break my heart Mickey.” Thank you to “Bring It On” for making this one popular for a little while again.

    10. “Cocaine” by Robin Thicke. I know this is supposed to be a cautionary tale about the drug, but it always makes me smile and dance. WHAT?! You try and sit still with this one. “Cocaine back up in a big way. Cocaine comin out the closets. Cocaine I’m standin in an alley, with my hands behind me. The club just aint the same without the cocaine.” *Disclaimer…this is in no way promoting the drug Cocaine. (Hey! I don’t wanna get sued. People apparently can’t think for themselves anymore.) :)

    11. “Hurry Up” by Steve Holy. This one is fun, true, danceable and makes me smile. “Now you can’t rush a good thing…No love before it’s time. And anybody fine as you’s heard every pick-up line. I swear that I respect you for what hasn’t happened yet, B]but could you hurry up every chance you get. You know what you do when you do what you’re doing now. You tempt me, you tease me with that ‘I ain’t done this look but I know how.’” While you’re listening…check out “Lead Me On” on his MySpace page. Holy, hot song! No pun intended. Well…maybe a little pun intended. ; )

    12. “Mountains” by Lonestar. This one always pushes me forward. It’s 100% inspirational and makes you understand what a little hard work can do. “There are times in life when you gotta crawl…lose your grip, trip and fall. When you can’t lean on no one else, that’s when you find yourself. I’ve been around and I’ve noticed that walkin’s easy when the road is flat. Them danged old hills will get you every time. Yeah. The good Lord gave us mountains so we could learn how to climb.”

    13. “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. There are only two songs I’ve heard that can completely stop all activity in a bar. This is one of those songs. While at a Daughtry concert a while back, the bar sound system started this song. I kid you not…as soon as the first line started every person in the room stopped what they were doing immediately (drinking, talking, laughing, dancing) to sing in unison. “Just a small town girl livin’ in a lonely world. She took the midnight train goin anywhere. Just a city boy born and raised in South Detroit. He took the midnight train goin anywhere.” AND there is something unifying in hearing voices of every gender, race and religion yell out one off key note…”Hiding somewhere in the NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.” *tear*

    14. “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks. The only other song I’ve watched a bar completely mobilize toward. Four notes. Four. Freakin. Notes. That’s all it takes to work a crowd into a frenzy if you’re Garth Brooks. Did I mention he did that for millions in Central Park. That’s New York City people. I gained a whole other level of respect for New Yorkers after that show. “I’ve got friends in low places. Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away and I’ll be okay. I’m not big on social graces think I’ll slip on down to the oasis. Oh I’ve got friends in low places.”

    BritMookieCathieBiloxi

SMILE in awe of talented singer/songwriter/entertainer after singer/songwriter/entertainer in one room at the same time. I experience huge smiles when I get to hear such great talent. Sometimes it makes my face hurt. That is what happened last week at a place called Mount Richmore.

    Mt.RichmoreView2

First up was Bradley Gaskin. Right off the bat, old-school country music had filled the room. This man has a VOICE on him. There were hints of all the greats in his style. It was a blast to the past packaged in wrapping paper of today. My very favorite song of Bradley’s was called “Mr. Bartender.” It was a lost love song that was pleading for a cure. “She left me on Friday. I’m so down and out. I never thought I’d lose her and be so broken down. And now I’m countin on somethin to ease this pain I’ve got. Mr. Bartender, take me out with one shot.”

Next up was Tyler Dickerson…that would be 16-year-old Tyler Dickerson. This kid doesn’t sing like a 16-year-old…at all. You can see Tyler opening for Brooks & Dunn on their current “Farewell Tour.” Tyler sang two songs that left a mark on my memory. The first was about timing being the deciding factor in turning down love. This was described in the tune “She’d Be You.” The age appropriate song states, “I don’t have time for a girl. Don’t have space in my world. I’m just out here tryin to make a dream come true. Its just how it is. Girl if I did, she’d be you.” Tyler also remembered to have a little fun with the kick ass “Just Like Hank.” This one was written about Tyler’s idol Hank Williams Jr. The younger artist sings… “I’m just like Hank. I’m just like Hank. I’ll entertain while I’m on this stage. Well, we got the same taste. I’m beginning to think, I’m just like Hank. I just can’t drink.”

John Rich was a big fan of all the artists playing that night.

    JohnRich

Third on the bill was Andy Gibson. This is a singer/songwriter who has a current cut by Jason Aldean called “Don’t You Wanna Stay?” This tune was my favorite of the batch with a chorus that asks…”Don’t you wanna stay here a little while? Don’t you wanna hold each other tight? Don’t you wanna fall asleep with me tonight? Don’t you wanna stay here a little while? We can make forever feel this way. Don’t you wanna stay?” He also had a very cool Spanish singing voice. I mean…everything sounds hot in Spanish.

Next up was the singer I showed up to hear because she is always worth the listen. That’s right ladies and gentlemen…the Rock On Together Featured Artist of the Month Shanna Crooks. I tell you about her often and she was as great as usual. What I am beginning to notice is that Shanna gets more and more comfortable on stage every time I see her. Don’t get me wrong, she was always great onstage, but you can tell it is more home now then it used to be. She sang many songs, but I want to tell you about the two songs that made me an instant fan three years ago.

    ShannaCrooks

The first song is called “Shut Up Girl.” It’s the independent girl anthem to which all of us can relate. This is a hit waiting to happen and it puts a smile on my face. “Cause I won’t take you back again to walk all over me. And I’m not scared to speak my mind the way I used to be. And I won’t sacrifice my dreams to be inside your world. I’m an independent woman. No, I’m not your shut up girl.”

The second song is called “I’ll Be Your Escape.” It is the total opposite of “Shut Up Girl” in meaning, but the exact same in completely amazing Shanna vocal delivery. “‘Cause I’m not the woman who will get in your way. And I don’t need anything except your kiss on my face. I’ll give you those little things and you’ll know you’re in the right place. When you need someone, you can run my way. I’ll be your escape.”

It’s songs like those and a voice like Shanna’s that caused Matt Ramsey to make the quote of the night. “When I sing, it’s like diggin a ditch…work. When Shanna sings it’s like spreadin butter on bread.” The woman can SAAAAAAANG. :)

Trevor Rosen made a guest appearance and sang one of my favorite songs ever written. No, I’m not exaggerating. The song is called Marvin Gaye. It is incredible and so hot it would melt the coldest heart on the planet. Check out these lyrics…”Turn all of the lights down baby. Turn off the radio. Let me serenade your body. Let me touch your soul. Aint nothin like the real thing baby. Just let me lead the way. I can show you something that no love song can say. Let me be your Marvin Gaye.”

The last performer of the night was Sinister. He was a performer! There were dancers all over the stage and he was all over the place. The music was Hip Hop/Rap/Hard Rock…a crazy and unique blend. He sang a song called “Dance For Me” and it was all about the rhythm and rhymes. “Drink for Free and Dance All Night” was the second song and it was equally cool. Sinister’s syle is all his own and I loved it! Let’s just say my face was significantly rocked off.

LAUGH at hilarious (and hot) comedians.

I know I never review anything but music, but this weekend gave me a very unique and awesome experience. It’s all thanks to the Pancake Pantry. Let me explain…

    KristaandBroBloomington

My little brother was in town visiting and he was with Brit and I at the Pancake Pantry on Saturday. As we sat there talking, a group of guys walked in the back door. I immediately recognized one and was in awe. Why is that? Because I heart Bill Bellamy.

I hearted him when he hosted MTV Jams in the 90’s. I hearted him when he was in the movies “Any Given Sunday” and “How to Be a Player.” I especially hearted him in the TV show (co-starring Tiffani Amber-Thiessen and Peter Facinelli) “Fastlane.” I’m still pissed that show was cancelled! I own the first season on DVD, I loved it so much. True story.

So Bill Bellamy was sitting at The Pancake Pantry with his friends and I did not approach…FAIL. However, we lucked out and ended up talking to him anyway. He was very cool and needless to say, we were at his show at Zanies later that night.

    Bill_Bellamy_BIO_Flyer

And what a show it was. People, go catch some comedy shows. I forget how necessary it is to see them every once in a while. There were four comedians we saw at Zanies that night with three of them being on the “Bill Bellamy: Ladies Night Out Tour.” If this tour comes to your city…see it! Two thumbs up. I was laughing for two straight hours.

Nashville’s own TC Cope kicked the show off right. J. Reid had me in tears (of laughter) and D’Lai made my face hurt from constant smiles. Usually there is a comedian in the group who is a weak link in the show. That is NOT the case with these guys! They are all so freakin funny. It’s a great dose of medicine for anything that ails you.

Finally, the great Bill Bellamy closed out the show. He has such an easy way with people that comes across on stage as well. You feel like you are hanging out with a hilarious buddy that is making you laugh just by being himself. He shares jokes and stories effortlessly. You can’t help but have a smile on your face around the man. From start to finish, I was laughing. Nothing was off limits, but nothing was too over the top either. He monitored the audience he was entertaining and adjusted based on that crowd. AND…we loved him.

If you want to learn about why air fresheners in bathrooms are scary, why flip flops are wrong, why it’s bad if someone tells you to “come here” and what’s great about Apple Jack milk…go see this show. It was worth every second of my time.

Bill, thanks for being awesome AND amazingly funny. You guys rock! :) OF COURSE I forgot to get a picture. I’m not the brightest bulb apparently.

SMILE at bands and artists who continue to impress. The show I saw on Memorial Day in Herrin, IL was unstoppable as usual. I never cease to be amazed. However, I’m not going to tell you about them because there will be more to hear about this coming week. This particular duo is currently on fire and I have a feeling CMA Fan Fest is going to produce a few more great shows to tell you about…so stay tuned… :)

AND the rain/storm prevented me from seeing the other artist I was in town to observe. Stupid rain! However, I will see that artist play this coming week as well.

I did get to see Brittany in Herrin though. Hi Britt (with two “t’s”)!!

    BrittanyKristaHerrin

LAUGH at odd sounding (but cool) bar names…like Mad Donna’s. That’s where I was on Wednesday night. It’s a relatively new venue and really fun. The staff is friendly and the room is cozy for writer’s rounds.

There was absolutely no reason to laugh at the talent who was in the room. They are four of my favorite singer/songwriters in town. AND I tell you about them a lot. Therefore, I’m only going to tell you about the new stuff they sang. NEW STUFF!!!! I’m like a kid in a candy store when that happens. :)

    ShaneTrevorJosh

Trevor Rosen was first up and the new song I adored was one called “Ghost In My Bed.” It’s the tune about not being able to shake lost love. “I put our love six feet in the ground, so tell me how is it you keep coming ‘round? Maybe I’m just paying for my sins. Got skeletons in closets, voices in my head. Shadows on the wall. There’s a ghost in my bed.”

Shane McAnally was up next and sang two new ones I hadn’t heard until that night. The first was a tune with an incredible twist (co-written with Trevor and Josh Osborne) called “She Moves.” It gives you double meaning with an intricate chorus. “She’s a Hollywood face that’s never been to LA. Kinda kitchy like a dime store gypsy. Likes to talk big city just to try and pretty up her roots. She’s nobody’s wife, cuz she hates wearing white. Kinda different like a fingerprint dippin’ in the ink. When you think you got her right where you want her. She moves. And I love the way she moves.”

Shane also had a song detailing the “falling in love” process called “You’re in Love.” How do you feel when you’re falling? Check out the chorus…”It’s a chain reaction from strangers. A passionate kiss and it messes you up. You don’t wanna care. You act so debonair. you try takin it slow, but the next thing you know you’re in love.”

Next up was Josh Osborne. I don’t get to hear Josh play live as much (which I’m really mad about because this man is INCREDIBLE) so there were quite a few new songs for me to take in and enjoy. It seems like everything he sang left a mark.

The first song was called “Leaves.” I’ve told you about this song once before, but it’s worth repeating. I adore the way this one weaves itself together. Josh’s voice on this tune is just an added bonus. “She’s a season I can’t change. Every time she says goodbye. Every time I wonder why my arms aren’t strong enough to hold her. Every time she’s in my bed. Like a fool I let her in my head knowin it can never be. Then I’m down on my knees every time she leaves.”

Josh followed that song up with the tune “It Doesn’t Add Up.” It’s the questions that go through your head after a break up. “It’s 484 days. At least 100 different pages of pictures of you and me in love. Doesn’t add up. How did we go from meant to be to and I’m everything you’ll ever need. To now I’m not enough. It doesn’t add up.”

I think my favorite out of the batch of Josh’s new songs was called “Your Cigarette.” I adored the path he took with this one. “I wanna be your bad habit. A bad habit that’s too hard to break. Just like you gotta have it. Show up when your hands start to shake. When you’re broken I can be your fix. I wanna be your cigarette.”

The special guest of the week was Dear, Sweet Matt Ramsey. I just told you about Matt’s show a few weeks ago. However, Mr. Ramsey played a new song on Wednesday night that was awesome! It explained the feelings you go through after a break up. I think the explanation is accurate. The song is called “Slow.” One of the two choruses states, “Slow. Like a quitter’s last drag on a cigarette. Like John Wayne heading for the sunset. The fall might be fast but the heartbreak lasts. Like a footprint smashed in the snow…it goes slow.” WOW!

And that wrapped up one kick ass night of music. I always adore any nights of music where those guys are involved. They are singer/songwriters who leave a mark when they are done playing. You don’t just remember the songs…they affect you. That is the most important thing you can do as an artist…make an impact with your art. These men do and always have.

    NashvillePolice2

SMILE AND LAUGH at the “Tweets of the Week.” There were too many good ones this week so I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. Therefore, I have three of them.

    1. John Shumate – “Don’t find fault. Find a remedy. – Henry Ford”

    2. Abe Stoklasa – “Why the hell would Sally sell seashells by the seashore? They’re everywhere there. Stupid girl.”

    3. Jay DeMarcus (in response to Tipper and Al Gore announcing their separation) – “Does this mean Tipper gets half of the internet????”

That’s gonna do it! I will allow the great Audrey Hepburn to wrap this up for me.

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.”

Hope y’all have a great weekend.

    Until Next Time…

    No Reins!

    K

P.S. Next week begins CMA Fan Fest. There will be MUCH to tell you about and I cannot wait. Talk to ya soon!
